Install DownHub
DownHub is a web app. Adding it to your home screen gives you an icon and a full-screen window, without an app store.
iPhone and iPad
- Open DownHub in Safari.
- Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow, at the bottom of the screen. From iOS 26, it is in the three-dot menu next to the address bar.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add. The icon appears on your last home screen page.
Android
- Open DownHub in Chrome.
- Tap the three-dot menu at the top right.
- Tap Add to Home screen, or Install app when Chrome offers it.
- Confirm with Install.
Desktop
- Open DownHub in Chrome or Edge.
- Click the install icon at the end of the address bar.
- Click Install. DownHub opens in its own window from then on.
What installing changes
- An icon, and a window without browser chrome.
- Pages you have already opened still load without a connection.
- Nothing is downloaded from a store, and no permission is requested.
- Downloading itself still needs a connection, because the file comes from the platform.
Bookmarks cannot be added for you
Browsers removed the ability for a page to add itself to your bookmarks, and no replacement exists. Adding to the home screen is the closest thing, which is why it is the route described here.
