Download Reddit videos with sound
Paste a Reddit link and save the clip with its sound, or the pictures from a gallery post.
Start with RedDown
Opens reddown.to in a new tab.
Download a Reddit video with its sound
Reddit stores a v.redd.it clip as two separate files: one with the picture and no sound, one with the sound and no picture. Fetching only the first gives you a silent video, which is the single most common complaint about Reddit downloads.
The sites listed here fetch both parts and combine them, so the MP4 you save plays with sound.
Download a RedGifs clip
RedGifs is hosted separately from Reddit and keeps picture and sound in the same file, so nothing has to be joined. Paste either the Reddit post link or the RedGifs link directly.
An i.redd.it image comes down as it was uploaded. A gallery post holds several images under one link, and all of them come from that one link.
Short share links of the /s/ form work too. They are opened first to find the real post behind them.
What you get
| Source | Container | Sound |
|---|---|---|
| v.redd.it | MP4, joined | yes, when the post has any |
| RedGifs | MP4 | yes |
| i.redd.it | JPEG or PNG | not applicable |
| Gallery post | JPEG or PNG | not applicable |
What will not work
- Private subreddits, and subreddits that have been quarantined or banned.
- Posts that only link somewhere else. Then the media belongs to that other site, so use its own page.
- Deleted posts, even when the comments are still visible.
Which Reddit site to use
The button above opens RedDown. The other sites listed below also handle Reddit links. If one is slow or unavailable for you, try another.
How it works
- Copy the link to the Reddit post from the share menu.
- Paste it into the box on RedDown.
- Pick the quality you want and save the file.
